Primates Trekking for 11 Days Uganda- Rwanda

Day 1
Our company representative will pick you up from your lodge to go to Ngamba Island for chimpanzee viewing after breakfast. You will reach in time for feeding the chimps to watch them feed. In the afternoon you will go for a forest walk on the island and then transfer back to spend the night in Kampala.
Dinner and overnight at Sheraton hotel or Holiday Express
Day 2
Have breakfast and then transfer to Kibale National park. A park known to have the largest number of primates in Africa, You will reach in the late afternoon to go for an evening walk in the park to look out for some primates like the red monkeys, bush babies etc. Dinner and overnight at Primates lodge Kibale or Rwenzori view guest
Day 3
Have an early breakfast and then head to the pack headquarters for briefing before you transfer for chimpanzees trekking in the forest. This will take you half day to have lunch and spend an afternoon in Bigodi Wetland sanctuary for a walk. The sanctuary is composed of picturesque flora and fauna that is spectacular.
Dinner and overnight at Primates lodge Kibale or Rwenzori view guest
Day 4
Have breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will reach in the after noon, check in at your lodge and if time permits you can go for a boat trip on the Kazinga channel. This trip will reward you with game like hippos, buffaloes and elephants at the shores with plenty of birds.
Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Institute of Ecology
Day 5
After an early cup of tea or coffee and drive to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee tracking, This is one of the most wonderful sectors of the park because has a lot to offer in terms of primates. You will spend their half day its exhilarating and then go back to the Lodge for lunch and rest.
Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Institute of Ecology
Day 6
Have breakfast and then head to Maramagambo forest a full day forest walk and to the Bat caves for thousands of bats, pythons and monitor lizards if you are lucky and more chimps.

Day 7
have breakfast and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha sector where you will watch the tree climbing Lions enroute. You will reach in the afternoon to check in at your lodge and have lunch if time allows go for a walk in the surrounding communities for entertainment and art crafts at fair prices.
 Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest Camp / Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 8
Go for briefing at the park headquarters after breakfast and head to the forest for Gorilla trekking. The time spent in looking for these apes ranges between 2- 8 hours depending on their movements. However the thrill of encountering the gorillas will erase the strain you went through in trying to find them.
Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest Camp / Buhoma Community Bandas.
Day 9
After an early break fast transfer to Rwanda drive through Kisoro and the Rwenzori mountain sceneries to the Rwanda border and across to Rwanda.
Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge in Ruhengeri
Day 10
After breakfast you will be transferred to Virunga Volcanoes to go trek the Dian Fossey Mountain Gorillas after briefing at the park head quarters. Track the gorillas for about 2-8 hours, spend 1 hour with them and then drive back to Kisoro.
Dinner and overnight at Kisoro Tourist Hotel / Kisoro Travelers Hotel
Day 11
After break fast transfer back to Kampala to have a lunch enroute and then proceed to reach in the late afternoon depending on your flight you can drive to the air port or have a brief tour around the city before you leave for your flight back home.
